Laundry and textiles writer
Meera Solanki spent fourteen years at a family-run dry cleaner’s, most of them at the spotting board, treating stains by hand before and after each garment was cleaned. She then worked for five years as a garment technologist for a clothing retailer, checking new fabrics and signing off the care labels sewn into its clothes.
She writes the Laundry section, from wash temperatures to wool and silk, and the Stain Finder’s methods for clothes and fabric, including the stains a dry cleaner will handle better.
